The objective of the ONLINE Modular Airline Transport Pilot (ATPL) Course is to train pilots who wish to obtain the necessary theoretical knowledge to pursue a career as an airline pilot with a self-designed course schedule to study at their own pace.
About the Online Theoretical ATPL Course
This course provides all the required groundschool for your ATPL training from your computer. You will follow all the Learning Objectives using an innovative software programme that will allow you to take the course from your home.
Barcelona Flight School is an authorized centre by the Agencia Estatal de Seguridad Aérea under EASA Part-FCL with the ATO number E-ATO-037 to provide flight training, with over 60 years of experience.
Your career will start to fly while you study at your home when it works best for you.
The theoretical course is developed by a software designed to facilitate the study and student learning. The training programme consists of 650 hours to be developed within a maximum period of 18 months.
The course is conducted in two phases of six months each one, 8 subjects in the first study phase and 6 subjects in the second phase. The student must at least spend 15 hours of study per week.
The consolidation lessons and level exams will be held in the school facilities in April and September.
The composition of the theoretical course is 565 hours of online education, 66.5 of ground school consolidation hours and 18, 5 hours of exams, with this syllabus:
- Air Law: 52 h
- Performances & Flight Planning: 102 h
- Aircraft General Knowledge: 151 h
- Operational Procedures: 58 h
- Principles of Flight: 50 h
- Human Factors: 57 h
- Navigation 103: h
- Communications: 14 h
- Meteorology: 63 h
The price includes an online software license that could be used in computers PC or MAC, requiring as browser Microsoft Explorer for PC and Safari for Mac; and an offline license that can be installed on two PCs or on two MAC’s and one ipad. The online license for course development is valid for 18 months after this period another one must be paid. For the Offline license the student will not be able to update new versions after this 18 months unless decide to buy another license. To achieve level exams at the school, you will need to use a laptop that should provide by the student.

The minimum requirements for the course are:
- To hold a Commercial Pilot License or a Private Pilot (PPL-A) (CPL-A)
- High School diploma or alternatively to demonstrate you can fully understand the content of the course and the successful completion of an examination of knowledge in Mathematics, Physics and English.
- To be at least 18 years old.
