COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Modular Commercial Pilot License (CPL) course will allow to obtain the license required to act as a PIC in commercial flight, perform aerial work in single and multi-engine airplanes and fly as copilot in transport aircraft. The student must hold a PPL(A) license with an MEP class rating prior to starting the Commercial Pilot License CPL(A) Course.

COURSE STRUCTURE

The course is composed of 200 hours of ground school covering the following subjects:

  • Air Law
  • AGK-Airframe/Systems/Poweplant
  • AGK – Instruments
  • Mass & Balance
  • Performance
  • Flight Planning
  • Human Peformances and Limitations (*)
  • Meteorology (*)
  • General Navigation
  • Radio Navigation
  • Operational Procedures
  • Principles of Flight
  • VFR & IFR Communications
  • Area KSA

(*) Not necessary if you have an IR rating

Students that have passed the theoretical knowledges in the instrumental rating (IR) are exempt to develop the Meteorology and Human Performance subjects.

Students that have passed all the ATPL theoretical exams are exempt to follow this theoretical course.

After the fourth week of the course, the student will start the flight training phase that lasts till the 13th week.

The flight training is divided in a visual flight phase and a basic IFR phase

To that end, the flight training is composed of:

  • 20 flight hours on single engine Cessna 172R/172S
  • 5 flight hours on single engine Cessna 172R/172S (night VFR rating)
  • 5 flight hours on multi engine Tecnam P2006T/Piper PA27/Cessna 310

Those pilots having an instrument Rating Airplane (IR-A) shall not perform the basic flight instrumentation phase of 10 hours.

Those pilots having an instrument Rating Helicopter (IR-H) must perform five hours of flight phase in basic flight instruments, being accredited five hours as previous experience.

DURATION

The approximate duration of the course is 14 weeks, allowing the student to complete the ground school and flight training simultaneously.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must comply with the following:

  • Being over 18 yo
  • Hold a Private Pilot License PPL
  • Hold a Rating MEP
  • A minimum flight experience of 150 Total Hours (100 hours PIC)
  • Being able to pass a Class I Pilot Medical Exam
  • Hold a bachelor degree or being able to pass qualifying maths, physics and English exams at the ATO
